The Mark Allen Friedman Foundation is a non-profit charitable organization established in 2005. In association with the University of Pennsylvania Abramson Cancer Center, all proceeds raised by the Foundation are donated to medical research, increased awareness of melanoma and other skin-related cancers, and those personally affected by skin cancer

Mark, in whose honor and memory the Foundation was created, was diagnosed with melanoma in 2001. Several surgeries to the neck removed his malignant mole and he went into remission. However, three years later doctors discovered that the cancer returned - this time to his lung, hitting an artery to his heart. Although Mark was put in a clinical trial to reduce the tumor, the cancer had already metastasized to his liver, pancreas, stomach and eventually to his brain. Mark passed away at the age of 34. It is the goal of this Foundation to keep Mark's dream alive that a cure will someday be found.
